Aftercare

Personally, I like to put healing foils on tattoos, but it is not always possible, so I will write down the necessary information for both options here.

In general, it would be a good idea to have the area covered with some airy fabric for at least a few days after a fresh tattoo, so that the tattoo doesn't rub unnecessarily against the too-tight fabric and can breathe in peace.

If you are leaving the tattoo studio with food foil, take it off after 3-4 hours. (If you are tattooing in the evening and you are sleeping in bed with your pet, keep the foil on to avoid unnecessary inflammation and take it off in the morning). Wash the tattoo with lukewarm water, dry it with a clean towel or kitchen towel and let it dry for 2-3 days before you start to apply it. However, it is a good idea to consider how the tattoo is healing and intuitively choose the method and quantity of lubrication accordingly. For some, once a day will be enough, for others it will need 4 times a day. Less is more and a thin layer of natural shea butter or cocoa butter based cream can help keep the skin moisturized. Under a heavier application, the tattoo could start to dissolve.

In the event of infection and pain, it is essential to wash the tattoo daily with a disinfectant or antibacterial soap and apply Bepanthen Healing Cream or Bepanthen Tattoo to reduce inflammation. Once the inflammation subsides, switch back to an appropriate cream designed for moisturizing.

If you've got a healing film on your tattoo, it's a good idea to leave it on for up to five days to make sure it's a good fit. If it peels off or the tattoo starts to irritate, remove it and follow the instructions above. You can shower with the foil, just remember that no water can get underneath it, if it does, remove the foil under a gentle, lukewarm or cold stream of water.

Rub the tattoo for 3-4 weeks until the image blends perfectly with the skin.

Avoid strenuous sporting activities during the healing period, the body may wash the ink out. Also, do not go to swimming pools, hot tubs, saunas, or anywhere that will circulate and soak the skin. In the case of yoga and stretching, be careful not to tear your tattoo, this would create unsightly scars in the image.

It is important to remember that tattoo healing is an individual process that varies from person to person. Trust your intuition, don't scratch and contact me if necessary.

How about in summer?

Tattoos in the summer can be a big scare for some, but there is nothing to worry about. With the right care, you can handle it.

After about 5-7 days when the tattoo is cloudy and forming flakes, it's time to start using sunscreen during the day in addition to moisturizing. It's important to remember that it's not enough to apply sunscreen just once a day, but to repeat several times a day depending on the factor you choose. Preferably 50SPF.

You must be careful that the sunscreen is not expired, it could cause further infection. The best brands are those designed for children's skin, they are gentle and anti-allergenic.

Keep the combination of moisturizing and SPF lubricated until the tattoo has completely blended into the skin.

If you want your tattoo to stay beautiful for a long time, I recommend using SPF every time you come in contact with the sun, the factor may already be lower.
