Who is SVVA
My name is Vanda Urban Svobodová, I'm ´96 and I've been tattooing since 2019.
I am quite a renaissance person and on my social media you can see that I am also into sewing, drawing, illustration, ceramics, animation, graphic design, well there is probably more. Because I couldn't live without creative work.
I have been involved in creative work since I was a child. I studied fashion design and traveled a bit. I got into tattooing as a personal challenge, for the first few years I was more the one tattooing for fun for friends at handpoke events (tattooing without a machine), but after a while I wanted to move on. I had to decide if I wanted to pursue tattooing now or never. I got a machine, dedicated as much time as possible to tattooing and especially drawing. In a couple of years I took the necessary courses and found tattoo studios that were willing to take me under their wing. Now I am traveling between Náchod and Prague. Sometimes I even go abroad. I'm especially happy that thanks to tattoos I can meet new faces and get an idea of who inhabits this planet.
What do I like most about tattooing?
I would say being responsible for myself and my own progress. So if I fell asleep on the boil, it would be entirely my fault. So I'm like the keeper of the fire, making sure my will and passion doesn't just burn out. Everyone I know in my life contributes to that fire, whether it is by the story they carry or whether I can enrich it with some experience of my own. Our meetings are therefore very important to me and I appreciate the trust that my clients place in me.
It's about communication, but it's also about silence. Silence together is the most beautiful state of being. During long sessions I go into a bit of a trance ( meditation if you will ), I can't hear, I can't see anything but the hum of the machine and the ink under skin. So tattooing for me is not just the final image, but the whole process from start to finish.
